Bolthole Cottage, Perthshire, Scotland

Book Now

Lesley and David would love you to experience their Bolthole.

A few years of looking and we've found our authentic, characterful Perthshire country idyll. A proper “Cottage” on the outside but modernised and very comfortable; a real home from home on the inside. A stunning, peaceful retreat with superb views for you enjoy. We’d like to share it with you. We’re convinced you’ll feel the same way about it we do.

Bolthole Cottage is a modernised, welcoming, top-end cottage that will sleep 4 in two cosy bedrooms, each effectively with its own bathroom/ensuite. We are walking, cycling and dog-friendly and have enclosed gardens and wonderful walking right on the door step.

The spacious open plan lounge area with large wood-burner (starter wood supply provided) set in a seriously authentic “country” fireplace, is just the place to relax after a days walking, biking, fishing, golfing or whatever takes your fancy. If activity is not your thing then it’s equally the place to simply kick-back, recharge, read a book and listen to and watch the many countryside birds that visit the garden.

The Cottage is genuinely rural, with extensive, secure, private gardens and spectacular views of the adjacent rolling countryside. We are almost equidistant to Blairgowrie and Pitlochry and sit in an elevated position with stunning views up Strathardle Glen to the Cairngorms in the distance. Peaceful would be one of our watchwords (our nearest neighbours being approx. 100 metres away), a retreat! Bolthole Cottage is both cosy and light and airy. Tri-fold doors give access to a large secluded and sheltered rear deck area.

Extensive gardens (0.4 acre plus) surround the cottage and immediate access to easy walking are at both ends of the garden. The 103km long-distance Cateran trail skirts the property. We have a real "hideaway" accessed by a surfaced track and forestry road. A few small jolts and bumps up the track are well worth the final destination. We are never disappointed to get through the gate….and relax!

Breaking news - we have our on-site Electric Vehicle fast Charger installed and ready for use, please see the dedicated page on our site for details and additional charges.

Please note, we do not permit the use of charger cables using our standard domestic power sockets. The existing electrical power sockets at the Cottage do not have the safety components required for vehicle charging as per the latest certification standards. The installation of a specialist, stand alone charger is therefore the route we have taken to support Guests' needs. Our insurers will not permit the use of these types of extension cables on the property and there is a greatly raised fire risk.

PLEASE INDICATE AT TIME OF BOOKING THAT YOU WOULD WISH ACCESS TO THE CHARGE POINT

Note: Likely everyone has this these days, but we strongly recommend insurance to cover cancellation of booking etc. Bolthole Cottage is no more than 3-5 minutes from the main road - however, one of its main attractions is that it is genuinely rural and in driving the track you will climb perhaps 50-75 metres in height. Those familiar with Scotland will know that "weather" is one of our attractions and in Perthshire, December to early March can see snow, for example, when the rest of the country is clear. The skiers and boarders amongst you will relish this of course but close attention to weather forecasts would be worthwhile at that time of year. As always, any questions phone, text or email us and we will be happy to help.
